Pizza Scrolls Recipe

Making pizza scrolls is actually really easy, once you have the dough ready, There's no pizza scroll recipe as such, it is more of a method.

HOW TO MAKE PIZZA SCROLLS

First, roll our your pizza dough, but instead of rolling it into a circle like you would for pizza, roll into into a large rectangle.

Next smother the dough with your favorite pizza sauce. For my pizza sauce, I mix tomato paste 50/50 with my Hidden Vegetable Pasta Sauce. It makes an amazing flavor pizza sauce and helps me sneak in some extra goodness into my kids without them knowing.

Then add your toppings to the pizza and top with cheese. Don't try to put too much on as it will make it more difficult to roll and the cheese will just ooze out when it is cooking.

Once you have all your toppings and cheese on the pizza, you need to roll it. Start with the side closest to you and slowly and carefully roll up the entire piece of dough like a Swiss Roll.

After I have rolled it up, I like to smooth it down and gently press it together to ensure it is even and isn't going to fall apart when I cut it.

Start at one end and cut 1-inch pieces from the dough. Gently press down each pizza scroll and place it on your pizza tray or pizza stone.

Bake in a hot oven (400 F / 200 C) for around 10-15 minutes, until golden brown.

Allow them to cool a little on a cooling rack. These taste amazing fresh out of the oven when they are still hot, but they are also good at room temperature.
