Chocolate Rum Balls

It isn't Christmas without this traditional Chocolate Rum Balls recipe! So easy to make, so delicious to eat, they make the perfect after dinner treat.

Equipment

  • Measuring Spoons and Measuring Cups
  • Cookie Scoop

Ingredients

  • 250 g packet plain biscuits eg. Arrowroot, Marie, Rich Tea
  • 395 g can condensed milk
  • 80 g desiccated coconut (1 cup)
  • 40 g cocoa powder (⅓ cup)
  • ¼ cup rum
  • Extra desiccated coconut or sprinkles to coat

Instructions

  • Place biscuits in food processor and process until finely crushed. OR place in a Ziploc bag and hit with a rolling pin until finely crushed.
  • Transfer crushed biscuits to a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon measuring spoon to scoop out balls of mixture. Use your hands to roll into a smooth ball.
  • Roll in desiccated coconut or sprinkles to coat.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.

Thermomix Rum Balls

  • Place biscuits in the Thermomix bowl. Crush for 5 seconds / speed 8.
  • Add remaining ingredients. Mix for 30 seconds / speed 6.
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon measuring spoon to scoop out balls of mixture. Use your hands to roll into a smooth ball.
  • Roll in desiccated coconut or sprinkles to coat.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
