So it's official! The Thermomix TM7 is to be released later this year. But what are we to expect? We break it all down here.

Vorwerk (the makers of Thermomix) made a global announcement on 14th February that the Thermomix TM7 would be released in 2025!
I know that everyone has a ton of questions about this, as do I. So I've been dissecting the Thermomix website and press releases and scouring the Facebook groups to find out as much as I can to share with you.
This article will be a work in progress - as I find out more, I will add it here. Got more questions? Let me know!
What to expect: Thermomix TM7 Features

The new sleek black design is the biggest divergence from the overall design we have seen yet. Not only is it black instead of the iconic white, but the focus of the machine is all around that 10" touchscreen.
Here's what to expect:
- Sleek and modern flat design
- Large 10” multi-touch display, with tablet-like usability
- Powerful yet quiet motor
- Insulated stainless steel bowl
- Knife locking lever for easy (re)assemble of mixing bowl
- Slider foot for easy base maneuverability
- A new modern rectangular design of Varoma, allowing for increased capacity
- 20 cooking modes, including the new open cooking, browning and steaming
- WiFi connectivity for software updates and using Cookidoo
- Bluetooth technology for integration with Thermomix Sensor
TM6 vs TM7: What are the differences?

Apart from the obvious overall design and look of the TM7, there are a few other differences between the two machines. I go into detail in article: Thermomix TM7 vs TM6 - A Comparison.
But in basic terms, here are the main differences:
- It has a silent motor. I love my TM31 and TM6, but they can be noisy! Thermomix are promising a quiet cooking experience with the TM7.
- Larger touchscreen. The TM7 has a 10" screen vs 6.8" on the TM6.
- Larger Varoma. The rectangular shape of the TM7 Varoma allows for 40% increased capacity.
- Insulated bowl. The stainless steel bowl has an insulated cover meaning you can touch the mixing bowl safely as the outside doesn't get hot. How you remove the bowl from the cover when it is hot isn't clear.
- Open cooking ability. The TM7 will allow for cooking and browning whithout the lid, much like cooking with a saucepan.
- Hidden locking system. Many people have expressed concern about the lack of locking arms - the TM7 has the locking system integrated to ensure the lid can only be opened when it is safe to do so.
- Built-in slider foot. This helps you slide the machine on your work surface without the need for a slider board.
And here's what hasn't really changed:
- The mixing bowl is the same size - 2.2 litre capacity.
- The cooking modes are the same, with the only difference being open cooking for cooking, browning and steaming.
- Free accessories come with both - mixing bowl, Varoma, simmering basket, butterfly whisk, spatula.
- Access to Cookidoo is the same.

When will the Thermomix TM7 be available?
The Thermomix TM7 is expected to be available in Australia and New Zealand from July 2025. Pre-sales open in April.
You can register your interest on the Thermomix website.
How much will the Thermomix TM7 cost?
Current prices being shared from Thermomix are $2,649.00 AUD or $2,849.00 NZD.
What's next for the TM7?
Thermomix have said that the 'modular platform architecture' makes it possible, among other things, to gradually add software developments in the form of updates, including future AI innovations.
It is not yet clear when these will be available - but they say that new functions will be added regularly, including voice control for Cookidoo.
I also think that the base unit's flat design will allow more accessories to be added more easily - for example, a larger mixing bowl. Watch this space!
What about support for current models?
Last year Vorwerk announced that they would no longer be servicing the TM31 or producing new parts for that model. The TM31 was released in 2004, so they did support it for 20 years, and for 10 years after this model was last sold.
But what are they saying now about the TM5 and TM6? Apparently, they will support a model for up to 10 years after that model was last sold.
- Parts for the TM5, servicing and consultant support will be available until 2029.
- The TM6 will be serviceable until 2035.
They have also said that they will continue to offer upgrades to the TM6 software for another 5 years.
More FAQs about the Thermomix TM7
No, the TM7 will only initially be available in black.
Open Cooking is a new mode for the TM7 that allows you to cook without the lid secured (like cooking with a saucepan) It will allow no speed cooking up to 100 °C, and unlocked cooking until speed 2 and up to 120 °C. It is securely locked when speed rotation exceeds 2.
There will be a new Thermomix Cutter+ that matches the TM7 specifications. The TM6 / TM5 cutter is not compatible with the TM7.
Only a few TM6 and TM5 accessories are compatible with the TM7. These are the Sensor and the blade cover and peeler. The simmering basket from the TM6 and TM5 will also fit and the spatula can also be used, although the TM7 will come with new and improved versions.
Thermomix do run trade-up opportunities from time to time. However there are no current opportunities to trade up to a TM7. And with demand expected to far outweigh stock supplies, a trade-up opportunity could be some time.
No the bowl capacity is the same as the TM6.
No it is not.
No it does not and integration of voice assistants is not currently planned.
