My name is Marianne and I am a mama of two kids... who loves to cook!
I was taught to cook by my dad, who was one of those cooks who did everything from scratch – gravy, bone broth, jam, scones, pastry, and occasionally bread too.
His passion in the kitchen inspired me from when I was a kid – and I dedicate this blog to his memory.
“Cooking is Love you can Taste”
For me, cooking is a way to express my love for my family.
I sneak in a few extra vegetables or a cup of bone broth into their meals because I know it is good for their health. And I love to bake them a batch of brownies or cupcakes, because I know it is good for their souls.
I believe in everything in moderation. We don’t do Keto, Paleo, Atkins or vegan cooking. And we are fortunate not to have allergies, so our kitchen isn’t wheat-free, nut-free, egg-free or anything-else-free. It’s definitely not sugar-free... like I say, everything in moderation!
Of course I want my kids to be as healthy as possible. But I also want them to learn the joy of eating and trying new things - and I certainly don’t want to deny them the pleasure of tucking into a gooey chocolate cheesecake or sweet and sticky strawberry tart.
“As long as you know how to bake, life is sure to be sweet”
I understand the struggle of finding new recipes to cook for a family every week. And I know (boy, do I know!) what it is like having to deal with fussy children. And mama - I hear you, the challenge of filling an interesting and nutritious lunchbox every day is real.
So join me on my mission to find simple, quick and delicious recipes for the family. I’ll be sharing dinner recipes, lunchbox ideas, naughty-but-nice baking ideas and even the odd sinful cocktail... strictly for the moms only, of course!
So follow along and join in the fun! Happy cooking mamas!
