Ingredients
The beauty of this dish is it uses just 3 ingredients (plus water)!
- Sugar - any white sugar will do. This isn't just for sweetness, it also brings out the natural flavour of the mango. If you prefer to go natural you could also substitute with maple syrup.
- Frozen mango - you can cut and freeze your own mangoes, or go ahead and buy pre-frozen mango from the supermarket to make this even more quick and easy.
- Lime juice - I like to use a freshly squeezed lime for added freshness. You could use bottled lime juice if that is all you have. But fresh is best!
How to make Mango Sorbet in the Thermomix
Making Thermomix mango sorbet couldn't be easier!
Start by milling the sugar - this helps it dissolve easily into the mango and means you won't get a grainy texture.
Next add the mango and chop it up. Depending on how large your mango pieces are, and how frozen they are, it will either result in tiny pieces of mango, or it will start to puree. Either way is fine.
Finally, add the lime juice and water and blend it for 2 minutes. This ensures you are left with a smooth, creamy sorbet.
You will probably need to use your spatula to stir the sorbet as it blends.
You can now either serve the sorbet straight away or transfer it to a freezer-proof container and store it for later.
If you want to serve it in nice-looking scoops, then you will need to leave it in the freezer for at least a couple of hours to firm up.
