This Thermomix Mars Bar Slice is a classic childhood favourite, made even easier with the help of the Thermomix. It's sticky, gooey and delicious and is sure to be a hit with the whole family.

    Thermomix Mars Bar Slice stacked.

This recipe is adapted from a classic Mars Bar Slice that my husband's granny used to make him when he was young.

He's always told my kids about it, and his mum recently shared the recipe with them and showed them how to make it, the traditional way, in a saucepan.

However, as always, I couldn't help myself from adapting the recipe for the Thermomix. I mean, why use your arm to stir when the Thermomix can do it for you, amiright?!

    Watch me make it!

    Ingredients

This recipe uses just FIVE ingredients!

A full list of ingredients and quantities can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Flatlay of ingredients used in Thermomix Mars Bar Slice.
    • Mars Bars
    • Butter
    • Rice Bubbles - aka Rice Krispies, depending on where in the world you are!
    • Chocolate - this is for melting to go on top, so you can choose to use milk or dark chocolate (or a blend of both) depending on your personal preference.
    • Oil - any flavourless oil will do (vegetable, grapeseed, canola etc). You can choose to skip this, but it will make the chocolate easier to slice once it sets.

How to Make Mars Bar Slice in the Thermomix

Making this Mars Bar Slice in the Thermomix is super easy. The hardest part is waiting for it to chill before you can eat it!

Full step-by-step instructions with exact timings can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Start by roughly chopping the Mars Bars and adding them to the Thermomix bowl with the butter. Then melt them for 6 minutes.

Don't worry if there are still some lumps (see picture below). It's just the nougat and it will mix in with the Rice Bubbles

Next, add in the Rice Bubbles and stir to combine.

Now press the mixture into a prepared cake tin (I use an 8-inch square tin) and set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.

Meanwhile, let's melt the chocolate. Break the chocolate up into pieces and add to the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 5 seconds, then melt for 3 minutes.

Now you just need to pour it over the base and pop it in the fridge to set before cutting up into pieces.

This will take at least an hour, so you'll need to be patient!
