Here I round up some of the best Thermomix Accessories to make your life easier and help you make the most of your Thermomix.
Now that you have a Thermomix you will probably find that you will start cooking a lot more things from scratch. Things like stock paste, or homemade sauces like hollandaise or pesto are all so easy in the Thermomix.
Or maybe you will get into making yoghurt or jam. And chances are you will bake more - you may even get hooked on bread baking or cake making!
Whether you need additional storage containers for all those extras you are making, new baking tins or just need to know what is the best brush to clean your Thermomix, I take a good look at all the options here.
What Accessories come with the Thermomix?
When you get your Thermomix, you will already have some accessories in the box with the Thermomix machine. These include:
- Simmering basket
- Butterfly whisk
- Varoma (steaming basket)
- Measuring cup
- Splash guard
- Spatula
- Basic cookbook
Thermomix always run a promotion that includes certain extra accessories, so depending on when you buy your Thermomix, you may also receive some other inclusions.
Where to Buy Thermomix Accessories
There are some accessories that you will need to buy directly from Thermomix - for example, an extra Thermomix bowl and blade or the blade cover and peeler, as you can't buy them anywhere else.
Other accessories are recommended to buy directly from Thermomix - for example a slider board, as you may void your warranty if you use a product not specifically designed for and made by Thermomix.
However there are plenty of accessories for the Thermomix - for example cleaning brushes and spatulas, and of course baking or storage accessories that you can happily buy from other stores, where they may either be better quality or cheaper than buying directly from Thermomix.
I explore all the options below.

Useful Accessories for the Thermomix
Second Bowl & Blade
Having a second bowl and blade can be a massive time saver and is often the first thing people recommend for an additional item for the Thermomix.
Whether you are making a recipe with multiple steps that requires cleaning the bowl in between steps or making multiple recipes in one day, having a second bowl will save you valuable cleaning time.
It can also be handy if you are catering for allergies or different dietary needs to avoid cross-contamination.

Glider Board
Thermomix finally listened to their customers and have released a Thermomix-made slider board. This allows you to easily move your Thermomix around your kitchen surfaces without upsetting the scales.
Available in white, black or beechwood to match your kitchen design.

Bowl Brush
Having a round cleaning brush is essential for quickly and effectively cleaning your Thermomix bowl.
You can buy the official one from Thermomix, but any strong-bristled round brush will do. Look for a sturdy brush with a long handle - even a toilet brush will work!

Blade Brush
A small bottle brush or straw brush is ideal for cleaning underneath the Thermomix blades.
You will find that some food can get stuck under the blades but a quick scrub with a tiny brush will get it clean in no time.

Blade Cover & Peeler
The blade cover and peeler is another popular accessory with Thermomix owners.
This sits inside the Thermomix bowl and has two functions: it protects food from the blades when slow cooking or sous vide cooking, and, yes, it really does peel your potatoes for you!

Spatulas
The Thermomix comes with a spatula but I don't find it all that easy to use for scraping out the bowl.
The good thing about it is that it has a safety guard to make it easy for stirring through the hole in the lid, should you need to stir while mixing or cooking. However, for scraping out cake batter or cookie dough, I find a silicon spatula to be much more useful.
I have the set of Wilton silicon spatulas shown above and they are excellent. They are pliable enough to get under the blade and fantastic for scraping off around the jug.

Serving Accessories
Thermoservers
Thermoservers are super handy for keeping your food warm while waiting to serve it.
They are perfect if you are cooking mulitple dishes in your Thermomix and need to keep one warm while you cook the next. Or if you are feeding people at different times. I also use mine for allowing a risotto to rest and thicken before serving.
I am not that impressed with the ones sold by Thermomix but the ones above come highly recommended. They have airtight lids and will keep food warm for up to 6 hours.
They are also great for pot-lucks, picnics and BBQs.

Another great option is an insulated gravy boat or sauce pot.
This is perfect for keeping gravy, caramel sauce (for the ever-popular Sticky Date Pudding), custard or any other sauce warm on your table.

Yoghurt Jars
You will love how easy it is to make yoghurt in the Thermomix using the fermentation mode.
Yoghurt jars are perfect for making single portion-sized yoghurts that you can transfer straight from Thermomix to fridge. Not only is homemade yoghurt better for you (no additives) but these jars mean no unnecessary plastic waste.
I also use mine to keep custard in the fridge for grab-and-go portions. You could also use them for a range of desserts, snacks, sauces or spices.
When choosing yoghurt pots, ensure they are the right height to fit in the Varoma (8-10cm high is ideal).

Baking Accessories
If you're anything like me, you won't be able to resist baking all the time once you have your Thermomix. Whipping up a batch of cookies, a wonderful chocolate cake or even baking a loaf of bread every week is just too easy.
The Dough function is one of the most amazing functions on the Thermomix, making bread making a cinch.
Here are some of the most useful accessories I have bought for baking with my Thermomix.
Silicone Mats
Silicone baking mats are great as an environmentally-friendly way to line your baking trays. And they will save you money over time from buying baking paper.
They are naturally non-stick, can be used in the oven, cleaned in the dishwasher and then rolled up and easily stored in your kitchen drawer.

Muffin Trays
I batch bake muffins all the time and freeze them for lunch boxes and after-school snacks. Also my daughter loves to whip up a batch of cupcakes at any given opportunity!
So muffin trays are in use almost every week in our house.

Piping bags and tips
All those cakes and cupcakes you are going to make will need to be decorated! My Thermomix Buttercream Icing recipe is perfect for piping onto cupcakes or smothering onto a cake.
I swear by using a piping bag and the large Wilton 1M and 1A piping tips for super simple decorating.

Donut Tins
It's not just muffins and cupcakes that my kids ask for these days either - they love Thermomix Donuts too!
I'm not going to pretend that baking donuts makes them healthy - but it certainly makes them easy to make. With the Thermomix to make the batter and a donut tin to bake them in, you can easily bake up a batch in no time.

Pizza stone
As I said, the Dough function will be a game changer once you have a Thermomix. No more kneading!
We make homemade pizza almost every week in our house - we make it so much we even bought a gas-fired outdoor pizza oven!
If you don't want to stretch to a pizza oven then I definitely recommend investing in a pizza stone - it will make all the difference to your homemade pizzas.

Bread Tin
Once you've fallen in love with the Dough function, you will likely find yourself baking up all kinds of loaves of bread, from bread rolls to naan bread to an easy Dutch oven loaf.
For an everyday loaf of sandwich bread, a bread tin is going to be very useful.
And it's not just for baking regular bread - I use mine for making banana bread and chocolate zucchini loaf too.

Baguette Tray
Another popular bread recipe is the Cookidoo baguette recipe. But you need to have a special baguette pan for this.
This not only helps you shape the bread, but the perforated surface also lets moisture escape, and allows loaves to crisp and brown evenly.

Pantry Accessories
Storage Jars
You will find it useful to have a selection of different sized storage jars - whether it for spices, stock paste, homemade sauces like pesto or jams and lemon curd etc.
You might also want some storage bottles for keeping homemade drinks in the fridge, such as Lemonade, nut milks, or Baileys - all of which are super easy to make with the Thermomix.
I prefer to use glass jars and bottles with clamp-style airtight lids.
Spice Rack and Spice Jars
With the huge choice of recipes for the Thermomix, you will probably find you become more adventurous with your cooking and trying out new recipes.
This inevitably leads to your pantry filling up with new spices and herbs. Getting organised and having a good storage system will be a massive time saver.

Nut Milk Bag
The Thermomix makes it really easy to make your own almond milk, coconut milk or oat milk. You just need a nut milk bag to make it even easier.
This allows you to easily squeeze out the milk and leave the pulp behind.
